The Hidden Immunity Idol is an object that typically takes the form of a talisman, or any other pocket-sized artifact. Its purpose is to, in one way or another, prevent its user from being voted out at Tribal Council.
Since debuting in the very first season, the Hidden Immunity Idol has appeared in all subsequent seasons of the series, making it the longest-running and most used twist in Survivor Fan Characters.
Overview[]
The idol acts as a token of immunity similar to that of the tribal Immunity Idol or individual Immunity Necklace. Unlike these items however, the Hidden Immunity Idol can not be won in an Immunity Challenge. Instead, it can only be obtained by contestants who are able to find its location. When found, it can be used to negate all votes cast against its holder at Tribal Council. Additionally, the holder is also allowed to give the idol away, or use it on another castaway at Tribal Council. When a castaway finds an idol, they have complete ownership over it, and it cannot be stolen from them by other castaways.
Appearance[]
The Hidden Immunity Idol is typically very small in size, being able to fit into a contestant's pocket. Its color scheme often matches that of the tribe of which camp its hidden at.
Format[]
Super Idol[]

- Played: After the regular votes are read.
The Super Idol is a type of Hidden Immunity Idol that must be played after the initial votes have been cast, but can be used after they have been read. Under this mechanic, all votes cast against the user become void, and the person with the next highest number of votes will be eliminated instead.
Negating Idol[]
- Appearances: Survivor Fan Characters 2: Brains vs. Brawn onward.
- Played: Before the regular votes are read.
The Negating Idol is a type of Hidden Immunity Idol that must be played after the votes have been cast, but before they are read. Because of this, it is possible for a contestant in possession of a Hidden Immunity Idol to be voted out. This also makes it possible for the Hidden Immunity Idol to be wasted, as whoever the idol is played for isn't guaranteed to have the highest number of elimination votes.
Damage Reduction Emerald[]
- Appearances: Survivor Fan Characters 20: Generations.
- Played: Before the regular votes are cast.
The Damage Reduction Emerald is a type of Hidden Immunity Idol that must be played before the votes are cast. Additionally, each vote cast against whoever the emerald is played for will only be reduced by one half, resulting in one vote being worth 0.5, instead of being nullified completely. Because of this, a more complex strategy may be required for this type of Hidden Immunity Idol to properly benefit the user.

Fake idols[]
Occasionally, contestants may create their own idols, usually with the intention to deceive another player. These idols hold no true value in the game, and are disposed of whenever a contestant tries to play them at Tribal Council by being thrown into the fire pit.
Contestants making fake idols[]
In Survivor Fan Characters, Skylar Cooper purchased a plastic necklace at a trinket store while on a reward trip. He would later give it to Hugo who he convinced was the real Hidden Immunity Idol.
In Survivor Fan Characters 4: Fans vs. Canon, Knuckles the Echidna created a fake idol while he was on Exile Island. He later buried it in the sand underneath the flag at the Merged camp, where it was found and dug up by Barney Callahan and Lilly Pendragon.
In Survivor Fan Characters 5: The Cursed Islands, Greg created a fake idol while he was on Exile Island waiting to be assigned to a tribe. On Day 6, Greg threw his own idol into the fire pit at Tribal Council without revealing that it was fake. He did this because he trusted his tribemates would not vote him out.
In Survivor Fan Characters: All-Stars, Minerva Mink created a fake idol and played it at Tribal Council to scare her tribe.
In Survivor Fan Characters 8: The Midway Island, Penny created a fake idol and hid it in a bush near her tribe's camp. While in desperate search for a real idol, Penny recovered her fake idol, forgetting that it was her own handiwork, and attempted to play it at Tribal Council.
In Survivor Fan Characters 9, Bonnie Quinn created two fake idols. The first she planted inside the dress of Ieaeka DuKair to make her appear untrustworthy.
