Taro Nook is a contestant and the Sole Survivor of Survivor Fan Characters 15. He is also a contestant from Survivor Fan Characters 20: Generations.

A benevolent figure, Taro was known for his close friendship with Ky Razie, and for running his own Sushi Shack, where he provided sushi for his fellow tribemates during Survivor Fan Characters 15. His free spirit, along with his fishing and cooking abilities, prevented him from being targeted throughout most of the game. He managed to make it to the Final Tribal Council, where he unanimously won the jury vote against Dustin, and became the first Sole Survivor to play a "perfect game." In spite of his accomplishment, Taro's method of giving food poisoning to his competition in order to win the Day 38 Immunity Challenge in his original season has often been criticized. Along with his rather unimpactful role in the game, he is generally considered to be one of the series' most unpopular winners.

Taro returned in Generations order to clear his reputation and to win the money to fund his Sushi Shack, however his notoriety placed an immediate target on his back. After surviving his first vote, Taro would again play on the side-lines, later on becoming infatuated with Okawa Hikuma. However Okawa's blindside at the hands of Skylar Cooper caused Taro to begin to play a more mean-spirited and aggressive "revenge" game against those who he blamed, culminating until the family visit. Despite this he once again made it to the Final Two, however his impersonal conduct and guarded nature caused him to lose the title to Montana Raines in an 8-3 vote.
